CSP Museum and Learning Center

Coming Soon…

The Colorado State Patrol History Museum and Learning Center will be dedicated to the living legacy of the Colorado State Patrol.  This project is a product of the Colorado State Patrol Alumni Association (CSPAA), the Association of Colorado State Patrol Professionals (ACSPP), the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation (CSPFF) and the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), and will provide insight into the rich history of the CSP while offering an opportunity for hands-on learning experiences, fostering community partnerships, and furthering traffic and public safety issues.

The Museum will include educational displays which will not only depict the history of an organization that has over 75 years of service to the state of Colorado, but will also emphasize the importance of technology in the law enforcement field.  It will illustrate that today’s peace officers must have basic educational principles such as math, science, language and creative arts in addition to athletic skills in order to properly serve the public.

There will also be defensive driving education classes available including Alive at 25 and the Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving at the facility.  In addition, a meeting room will be available for small events and other training opportunities.  It is the intent of the Museum to become an active part of the community, both within the immediate area of the facility and for the entire State of Colorado.

Property has been acquired in Lakewood through the generosity of the Stevinson family and work with the City of Lakewood and their Planning Commission has been initiated to bring this effort to fruition.  The hard work of acquiring sufficient funding has also begun and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  It is hoped to have this venture completed by the end of 2014, providing sufficient financial support can be generated.

Below is how you can help to preserve the history of the Colorado State Patrol and the multitudes of equipment, vehicles, the memory of Troopers killed in the line of duty and the many stories to be told about the decades of the great public safety agency.
